LIA’s vision is three-fold

THE FIRST
The first is childrens homes for the orphaned, very poor
,at risk children and have them sponsored so they can be fed, educated and equipped ready for their adult life.

The childrens homes at LIA are a family oriented atmosphere so the children really know what it is like to be supported and loved.

Our children will be taught a high standard of principles but in no way do we force them to choose Christianity. Once they have seen what happens in a Christian lifestyle and home and how it changes lives about them they then choose whom they will serve, when of the age to make an informed decision. We see them also go back into their nation to their own people in a caring and also practical and trained manner.

THE SECOND
The Second area of Love In Action vision is to assist the people of the nation in a very practical way by supplementation in vitamins and also education in hygiene and sanitation.
The people are so poor they cannot provide correct vitamin supplementation. Many illnesses derive from such a lack and therefore can even result in permanent physical damage or even death.

We purchase supplement by donations in funds or donationed goods and distribute when necessary.

Either Ruth or another experienced person working with LIA will oversee the distribution of these supplements. Each person is professionally assessed. Ruth has worked in and set up many of these types of programs over a number of years and found that they are very effective in both a physical and long term manner in affecting people’s lives.

THE THIRD

The Third area of Love in Action vision has two aspects.

Firstly, a Training Course will see teams of no more than twelve to live on the LIA training base.

People will be trained, equipped & discipled practically and spiritually in work in a third world nation.

The course will be for a period of 1 month where they will be taught in all practical, emotional and spiritual areas by lectures from trained people in different areas of work in third world nations.

The trainees will be taken into a variety of areas out amongst the people of the country were they can start to put into action what they are learning.

The trainees will be constantly assessed and guided by an appropriate caring trainer as impartation is what this style of work is all about.

We work in affiliation with local and other non-government organizations in Cambodia.

The Trainees may find that there will be challenges along the way but will have loving guidance and  support by Ruth and other trainers.                                                                                                                                               It is all part of the Process of equipping people in care and humanitarian aid work.

The LIA Training Centre will provide all meals and be accommodated for this period of time in the cost of the programme or as arranged. All trainees will be required to keep their own areas of responsibility tidy, do their own laundry and appropriate chores.

The costing details are attached on the application form. The trainees will be required to have a reference from appropriate respected people they have known for more than five years and a recent police check from their country of origin. This helps us accurately assess them in the area of safety in working with children and an openness and willingness to apply themselves to training. Upon acceptance of their application each person will be required to arrange travel to Phnom Pehn, Cambodia, and then correspond with our Australian office the details of their arrival. They will be met by Ruth or an assistant and taken to the Training Centre.

The second area is to have Short Term teams for 2-3 weeks come and visit Cambodia were the teams will have hands on experience in working in our care projects and  childrens homes. This is open to people of all age groups and it is a learning experience in how to work and operate effectively in the area of humanitarian aid projects.

We know it is a rewarding though at times challenging experience for all involved and we look forward to being part of working with those people to help us build a better future in the nation of Cambodia.
