 ABOUT ALEXIS SAWFORD
Alexis began music at an early age. Having been compared to greats like Hendrix Floyd the Beatles, Bonjovi and Zepplin, this distinctive "old school artist with the soaring vocals and magnificent guitar skills has blended his rock sensibilities and visionary nature to produce a body of work which has been described as epic, unhurried, easy to get the gist of, and well crafted. His first solo project, "Radiate Love", a low budget sketchbook of songs written over the early years as he travelled the country as "the Human Jukebox" stopping huge crowds as he belted out songs on his old 12 string, looking every bit the lone wolf of rock, was well received by the street press and comparisons made with singers like Barnes, Reyne and Farnham, due to the husky and powerful vocal developed from years of unamplified street singing. Amused at the success of the poorly recorded underground effort, Alexis spent time in the far western province of Papua New Guinea, performing at the "Hamamas Wik" festival, the inspiration for his song Jungles of Papua which was to appear on his follow up album 'Papa Time". With better production values and at times a softer vocal style, peppered with sparkling 12 string guitar and some amazing guitar work, the album takes the listener on a journey with considerable light and shade with some philosophical and occasionally humorous lyrics. Currently based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of Australia, Alexis has been working with some world class musicians and is preparing a new promotion push for the classic "PapaTime" Alexis also has new album in production.
